Obituary of Protima Pandey

Protima Pandey, a mom, a wife, a sister, a daughter, an Engineer, and an Entrepreneur passed away at her home in Mountainside on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at the age of 50. Born on August 4, 1973, and raised in India, Protima spent her formative years in Delhi before moving to the US in 1997. 

She was the most fun-loving, independent, and strong person, who never refused to help a person in need. She loved what she did professionally. She had a profound love for engineering, which led her to earn her bachelor’s degree in engineering from the Delhi Institute of Technology, followed by a master’s degree in engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI). A dedicated and hardworking engineer, Protima spent many years working in the tech field, specifically in network security for BBN and Bose. Most recently, she turned her interest toward entrepreneurship and began running the Code Ninjas franchise in Westfield.

Protima's biggest passion was traveling and absorbing the sounds and sights of nature. She visited many places throughout her life, including Italy, France, Portugal, Brazil, Peru, and Costa Rica, to name a few. However, her most recent trip to Greece, which she shared with her son, was the most memorable. Her son was her life and she was very proud of him. She was a great mom who made many sacrifices for her son, Aadi, and never stopped talking or thinking about him. 

Protima is survived by her son, Aadi; her husband, Abhishek; her dad, Ramesh Chhabra, sister, Tina Sood; and her brother, Siddharth Chhabra; along with many other loving friends and extended family.
