My deepest condolences to the family on JT's sad demise.
JT and I worked at D E Shaw between 2010-2015 and have so many fond memories with him. As a fresh management graduate I was mentored by JT and whatever I have achieved in life so far JT had a huge role in shaping me.
After he moved to the US he kept a personal touch and we shared so many fun moments at work during my night shifts from India. His stories, his voice calling me out... "Hey AD" are still etched in my memory.
We all will miss him. May his soul rest in peace. Om Shanti.

We first met in 2010 and our families had close association for more than 5 years. Together we had many great moments celebrating festivals, going out on vacation, out for dinners or just enjoying each other's company in our homes. We became parents at around the same time and shared the joys of being new parents. Jigruksh is a terrific guy with affable smile and we enjoyed his company always. This is totally devastating that we lost our dear friend at a young age. Adios my dear friend, you will always be in our thoughts and memories. Sakshi and Mahi, you have to stay strong for each other in this difficult time. Om Shanti.

We at Sanskriti are heartbroken at this tragic loss! We fondly remember J.T.'s smiling face as he came to Sanskriti school each Sunday for two years to teach Gujarati to the kids. His commitment to community service and passion for environmental issues led him to coordinate, along with Sakshi, a clean up of a neighborhood grounds where students and parents participated enthusiastically under his leadership. He stepped up and volunteered his time at Sanskriti camp when we were short of volunteers helping out with sports and other activities as needed. As a lover of music, we remember his dedication to Samvaad (Sanskriti's music initiative) where he was part of the core group planning and organizing different music concerts. In just three short years, we got to know J.T. as a loving husband to Sakshi, an adoring father to Mahi, and as a committed member of Sanskriti who generously gave his time and energy to create a sense of community and togetherness. We will miss you, J.T.!

Sakshi was my best friend during our MBA. I first met Jiggi Bhai when he came to Ghaziabad for his formal engagement with Sakshi. We hit it off instantly - so much that somehow we ended sleeping in the same hotel room that night. It was a night full of silly childish jokes (many at the expense of Sakshi).
The next time I met him was his own marriage - I guess I was one of the last guests to leave Baroda the next day. Another memorable day, this time at both their expense in their own house, including a weird photo session in the family room.
The best time I had with him was at a dear friend's wedding - 3 days of fun and laughter. Marriage was fun but the bigger fun was the after marriage trip I took with Jiggi Bhai and Sakshi to some obscure river village in Karnataka. My best trip ever. We literally rolled on the floor laughing, monkeying around and cracking jokes - this time on ourselves. Somewhere during that trip we started behaving boyfriend-ish just to irritate Sakshi. And since then 'Boyfriend' became our nick name for each other when Sakshi was around.
Last I met him in person was in Sakshi's Ghaziabad house when the couple came to India the first time after Mahi was born. That's it - just 4 times in person and may be another 3-4 times on video calls. But I grew as fond of him as I was of Sakshi. He was a joy to talk to - a great guy without any facade or inhibition.
I will miss you Boyfriend. Rest in peace.

I had the honor and great pleasure of being JT's colleague for nearly 15 years. In that time, I never heard him say an unkind or discouraging word about anything or anyone. In fact, it was impossible to be discouraged about a project -- or anything, really -- when speaking with JT; his optimism, good cheer, and "can-do" spirit were truly infectious. But his warmest words, and his biggest smiles, were reserved for conversations about his family. Sakshi, Mahi: thank you for sharing the wonderful photos of your life with JT -- they radiate the love and joy that JT expressed for you at work. But thank you most of all for sharing JT himself with us. I pray for your peace, and for his.

I first started working closely with JT in 2013 when I moved into the DESIM group at DESCO. I couldn't believe my luck! JT was such a terrific colleague - in a firm that prides itself on our collaboration and cooperative nature, JT was a standout even then. There was nothing he wouldn't do, no task was beyond him. We started a new strategy around this time and, frankly, we came to rely on JT for so many aspects of this effort. Beyond his "usual" tasks, JT became the go to person on many of the items necessary to get new strategies off the ground. His contributions were invaluable.
Beyond being a great colleague, JT was a dear friend. We shared many interests, including a passion for the environment. We had lots of interesting discussions on the environmental world, including crazy (JT - not so crazy!) schemes to shut down the coal industry in the US, how to eliminate plastics and the like. Trust me, I will continue to fight the good fight. And then, there was cricket (I am an Aussie). While remaining civil (of course - it was JT!), we'd debate who was better - Kohli or Smith, Gavasker or Chappell. There was much to talk about! These are some of my fondest memories of JT.
The passion and delight that JT expressed when chatting about cricket was only exceeded when our conversations turned to his family. He was so happy with Sakshi and Mahi and lit up when telling me about Mahi's latest milestone or accomplishment. Sakshi, Mahi, JT's love for you was so evident. His time with us was too short, but he left us with many memories. Peace, my friend.

I will miss you my dear friend Jigruksh. I am lucky that we met during our university days to have a true friend in you. All those memories are coming back, those were so memorable days.
