Obituary of Asit Tony Dave

Please share a memory of Asit Tony to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Asit Tony Dave: A man with a heart of gold Asit Tony Dave left this earth way before his time. But during his brief stay of 56 years on this earth he spread happiness to everyone he came in touch with. He was blessed with humor, kindness and love for everyone. He could not do enough for his friends and his family. But now, this man with a heart of gold has left for his eternal journey. Asit Tony Dave passed away at Weill Cornell Hospital on January 2, 2021 only 14 months after his mother Rekhaben Shukla. He is survived by his wife, three daughters, and a sister. Asit was born in 1964 in Surendranagar, Gujarat to Rekhaben Shukla. As a child, he was a mischievous boy, teased friends, family and teachers alike. He made many friends. He moved to the USA when he was 14. Life was difficult for a young boy in high school who could not yet speak a word of English. Asit faced many such difficulties with courage and humor and conquered them. Once he was out of school, he studied Real Estate and had a successful career at that. He was entrepreneurial and ran several successful businesses. In 1994 he took a job as a supervisor in an aerospace company. Later he changed his career, obtained a ‘Microsoft Network Certificate and worked for several companies as a Network Administrator. Asit met Apexa in India in 1994. It was a love at first sight. They got married at a grandiose ceremony in Ladol India. Asit returned to the USA and then a few months later, when Apexa left India to join Asit, Asit surprised her by meeting her half way in the Air India plane at London. Forever a romantic guy, Asit was so proud of his smart and beautiful wife Apexa. Later when their twin daughters Ria and Reshma were born, Asit could not wipe off the proud smile of his face. His daughter Roshni completed the family. His wife Apexa and the daughters were his pride and joy. A bleeding heart liberal democrat, he playfully bad-mouthed republican candidates. He loved fireworks, kite flying, Gilli Danda, cricket, music and cars. He loved to have a house full of guests and cook Parotha and mouth burning subji for them. In his backyard, he loved to roast corn for every guest. He was a thrill seeker who loved driving fast, skydiving, speed boating, and amusement park trips with his daughters. Asit was known for going out of his way to host friends and family coming from out of town. If a friend or a relative ever needed help, Asit was always there. If relatives were visiting from India and no one had the time to drive them to the Empire State Building, Asit always found time for them. If you wanted to run an errand, Asit would do it with a smile. This good man has left us. Up in heaven, when God needs someone to run an errand, Asit will raise his hand. He will put a smile on God’s face. Goodbye Asit Tony Dave, We will miss you the rest of our life.
